Good News: Driver's License Validity In NCR Increased To 5 Years!

Driver's licenses issued in the National Capital Region (NCR) will have a LONGER validity period starting October! :)

Driver's licenses issued in the National Capital Region (NCR) will have a longer validity period starting October, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced Tuesday, and confirmed through a report of ABS-CBN News

DOTr extended the validity period of driver's licenses from the current three years to five years.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier expressed this desire during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 25.
Duterte then, vowed to reduce the processing time for issuing business permits and licenses "to the barest minimum," as he talked about his 'crack down on red tape’ in his previous SONA

 "In my city, it is always three days for local governments, that will bind the Office of the President down to barangay level," he had said in his first ever State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Duterte also added that motor vehicle plates should also be issued at the 'point of sale' to prevent backlogs at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Just last month, Senator Ralph Recto also filed a bill extending the validity period of driver's licenses to five years, citing the need to eliminate red tape from the processing of government documents.
